MAYOR HUBBARD :
USAG Committee - Feb 1 2007 :

I have much pleasure in presenting to you the
Mayoral Task Force on Sustainable Development report and in
recommending that the Committee and Council adopt the
recommendations and begin implementing these
and in some cases, undertaking the further important work
suggested in the report.

Table 3, p11, of the report referred to the developing of an action
plan, to pilot in Otahuhu Kingsland, Waiheke, and Parnell,
localised decision making in which the council and the community
boards share how to allocate community resources.

The minutes of the USAG committee included

That the Council work collaboratively with the Auckland Regional
Council, Community Boards and other Territorial Local Authorities
on these matters.

The fast-tracking of the proposed Corporate Sustainability Framework
" to transform council culture by establishing a programme to
embed sustainability in all council's operations and activities".

WISDG attended this meeting and tabled this report,
( which was minuted) after previously presenting it
to the Waiheke Community Board meeting of Jan 31.

Watch this space for more info as to why this matter is

so important for the future more devolved governance
of Waiheke.

USAG Committee - March 1 2007 :

The Council officers tabled this further report,
and the following resolutions were passed.

Waiheke Community Board Chairman Ray Ericson spoke to this
Item 8 matter, and particularly referred to the earlier
Feb 1 resolution Item 6F, and concluded his comment as below -

" Thus we respectfully request that greater priority be given
to Item 6.F from the minutes of the USAG February 1 meeting -

That the Council work collaboratively with the Auckland
Regional Council, Community Boards and other Territorial
Local Authorities on these issues
,

and we look forward to working with Council on
positive projects in the near future" .

USAG Committee - March 29 2007 :

committee on March 29, wherein it was resolved
